recruitment

The PREPARED fellowship programme offers exceptional research, training and career development opportunities for postdoctoral researchers of any nationality. The fellowship programme is coordinated by the Centre for Disability Law and Policy, University of Galway. The PREPARED fellows will be hosted by the host institution of their chosen supervisor, where they will conduct their research and participate in invaluable training and career development opportunities.

We will be recruiting a total of 6 postdoctoral researchers between 2025-2029. Recruitment will occur in two phases – 3 postdoctoral researchers will be recruited in 2025 and 3 further postdoctoral researchers in 2026. Each postdoctoral researcher will be employed on a 3 year contract. Applicants must select one of the following organisations to be employed by at which they will carry out their postdoctoral research – the University of Galway, the University of Lisbon and Swiss Paraplegic Research. Postdoctoral researchers must not have been resident in the country they are applying to be employed in for more than 12 months in the previous 3 years.

Before applying, postdoctoral researchers must develop their own proposal which meets the aim of PREPARED – i.e. responds to an urgent global challenge in a disability-inclusive manner. Postdoctoral researchers must already have been awarded their PhD before applying to PREPARED and must make contact with a PREPARED supervisor to confirm that this project matches their area of expertise.

More information about recruitment and how to apply is available on our Call for Proposals page.
